I've been wanting to do this STEAM melted crayon art project for a long time and we finally did it! Check out our fun crayon art and see how you can make your own!
Do you have lots of crayons that need to be recycled? You can recycle them yourself in a fun new useable shape! Crayons are made out of paraffin wax. When heated, the wax reaches its melting point and melts into the new shape of the mold you choose. Once they harden... ta da! A new crayon shape!
We love crayons in our home and use them daily! We have been collecting our broken crayons for several months and we decided to use them for some fun STEAM projects at home. One of our recent projects was inspired by the book in my Reading STEMs Learning Series entitled, 'The Crayon Man'. We created these fun STEAM sun catchers with crayon shavings and wax paper!
"The Crayon Man" is a true story about Edwin Binney's invention of Crayola Crayons. This book is educational and truly inspiring as it proves that perseverance can create something beautiful!
