In this post, you’ll find my “Smart about sharks” book review! Do you have a future marine biologist or zoologist in your family? Then definitely check out “Smart about sharks” by Owen Davey. This is just one book available in his Flying Eye Book series. We can’t wait to check out the others.
About the book:
This book is filled with abundant details, fun facts, and educational information about sharks! I loved the illustrations the most.
Did you know that sharks actually evolved before the dinosaur? Also, great white sharks size up competitors by making the biggest splash with their tails. Check out the clear illustrations below!

What did you think of this book?
Each page contains intriguing details. My children loved to flip through topics like shark ancestry, what sharks eat, and where they live. It also covers the purpose of various body parts on a shark and how to help with shark conservation.

The illustrations are wonderful to look at and make it easy for children to understand the information. The illustrations really help younger readers clearly understand the vocabulary in the book.
What did your little marine biologists think?
My 6 year old is totally fascinated by this book. The larger science vocabulary paired with the cool illustrations, flow charts, captions, and diagrams are really something to admire. They sparked my daughter’s curiosity in sharks. From there, the questions were flowing!
