Children learn about each character’s life growing up. They discover their motivations and ambitions and learn about the challenges they faced along the way.

My “Ordinary People Change the World” book review:

Hands down, one of the BEST children’s book series I’ve come across! These books are written so well. My children were able to relate to the characters. The books opened up their minds to big ideas about the world and tons of historical relatable facts. In one instance, my children learned from the book “I am Rosa Parks.” They saw how she dealt with bullies. They also saw how she stood up to them.

What do your little change makers think about these books?

As far as my little change makers “Ordinary People Change the World” book review…

  • My 3 year old loves these books. She will sit and listen when we read. She doesn’t yet grasp all the verbiage and details in the books quite yet.
  • My 5 year old loves the series! It’s perfect for her age. It has started some really great dialogue in our home. We talk about history, how to treat other people, and how heroes start out as ordinary people like ourselves!

Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum on PBS:

These books come to life in the PBS series titled, Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum. The children in the show go back in time to meet and learn about these important heroes. The illustrations in the books (like those in the PBS series) really help children relate to the characters.

Both of my children love this show! They are very in the stories that come to life!.

What we LOVED about this series:

  • We loved that the stories are totally relatable to children. The language in the book also is perfect for ages 5-9.
  • The historical elements from this series of books are incredibly fascinating to young and adult readers. I loved learning about the characters just as much as my children!
  • We loved the fun illustrations, how well they aligned with the story, and how relatable they were for children.
  • I loved that my children can learn about these incredible role models from history. They know that they, too, can follow their own interests and ambitions to achieve greatness in life!

Become a Hero Maker:

For the fun of it, I used the PBS Hero Maker app to make my own hero! Check it out below!
